Your Thatcham tracker budget has two main parts: the one-off device price and ongoing monitoring. At Thatcham Trackers, our standard wired S7 is £169, S5 is £349 and S5 Plus is £449, each including nationwide professional fitting. Monitoring is £10.99/month separately.
What do you pay at checkout?
When you choose monthly monitoring, checkout includes the tracker and the first month’s monitoring. Before optional extras, that is £179.99 for S7, £359.99 for S5 or £459.99 for S5 Plus. Subsequent monthly monitoring payments are set up separately after purchase.
That checkout payment is not the full first-year cost. Include the remaining 11 monthly payments when deciding what to budget.

What does a tracker cost over three years?
At £10.99/month, 36 months of monitoring totals £395.64. Adding the current standard device price gives these illustrative three-year totals:
- S7: £564.64 — £169 device and fitting + £395.64 monitoring.
- S5: £744.64 — £349 device and fitting + £395.64 monitoring.
- S5 Plus: £844.64 — £449 device and fitting + £395.64 monitoring.
These are budgeting examples, not a promise that future monthly prices will be fixed. They exclude optional extras and assume uninterrupted monitoring for the full period.
Monthly monitoring or prepayment
Choose to either pay monthly or prepay. On the monthly option, the first £10.99 is paid at checkout and subsequent monthly payments are set up separately after purchase. The first payment is part of the 12-month total, not an extra thirteenth payment. See the product options for available prepaid periods.
Choose the payment arrangement that suits you. Compare the total shown for each prepaid period with the same period of monthly payments; do not assume prepayment automatically includes a discount.
What else can affect the price?
- Extra driver fobs: include the cost of any additional fobs you select.
- Different packages: EV/hybrid, battery-powered and other specialist products have their own prices and features.
- Moving the tracker: ask for a quote before assuming removal or refitting in another vehicle is included.
Choose by requirement as well as price
