For a BMW 3 Series, the right tracker is the one that meets your insurer’s written requirement for your particular car. Model year and equipment differ, so check the vehicle and tell us the exact category or device named on your policy before ordering.

Check any existing BMW security service

BMW offers separate Security S7 and S5 tracking products, including different battery-powered and hard-wired versions. Availability on your own 3 Series and the state of any subscription need checking. A vehicle-location function in the My BMW app does not, by itself, show that a monitored S7 or S5 service is fitted and active. Ask for the device details and certificate if you believe you already have one.

What an aftermarket system can add

Our professionally fitted monitored trackers offer another option if your BMW has no qualifying active tracker, if your insurer asks for a different category, or if you prefer a separate fitted service. S5 adds driver recognition; our S5 Plus packages add immobilisation. Tell us the generation, year and powertrain so we can discuss fitment before you place an order.

Choose S7 or S5 from your policy wording

If your schedule names Thatcham S5, an S7 system is not a substitute. S5 adds driver recognition to monitored tracking. If the policy says S7, or specifies a named device, installer or monitoring arrangement, check those details with your insurer before ordering. A Thatcham category does not by itself guarantee acceptance or a lower premium.

For our standard fitted tracker packages, the product price includes the device and professional installation. Monitoring is separate at £10.99 per month. After checkout we confirm the fitting arrangement; following installation, activation and checks, review the certificate and send it to your insurer if requested.
